What Are The SATs
SATs is a standard entrance exam used by most colleges and universities to make admissions decisions. The SAT is a multiple-choice, pencil-and-paper test created and administered by the College Board.
The purpose of the SAT is to measure a high school student's readiness for college, and provide colleges with one common data point that can be used to compare all applicants. College admissions officers will review standardized test scores alongside your high school / secondary school grades, the classes you took in high school / secondary school & letters of recommendation from teachers or mentors, extracurricular activities and sometimes personal essays.

The SAT is split into two sections, however, some colleges require a third section which is an Essay Section
1. Evidence- Based Reading & Writing
2. Math
This exam is 3 hours long for the main two sections, however if your college requires an essay section you will receive an extra 50 minutes and the exam will be 3 hours 50 minutes in total.
