When Exposure Meets Reality

When Exposure Meets Reality: Inside the DBSISA & International Soccer Academy Pathway

Most young players don’t fail because they lack ability. They fail because they don’t understand the system they’re trying to enter.

Unfortunately, European football doesn’t run on open doors or good intentions. It runs on timing, trust, relationships, and preparation.

Players who progress are rarely the loudest or the most advertised;appropriately introduced properly, at the right moment, by people clubs already know.

This is where the partnership between International Soccer Academy (ISA) and DB Sports International Soccer Academy (DBSISA) comes into play.

Not as a headline or a promise, but as a working pathway built around access, standards, and accountability. ISA and DB Sports team up to offer talented soccer players the opportunity to play soccer in Europe through the Pro Combine.

What the Pro Combine Actually Is

What the Pro Combine Actually Is

The International Soccer Academy Pro Combine, taking place January 9–11, 2026, in Miami, is a professional showcase that gives elite U17–U23 players direct access to European scouts and club coaches. Over three days, participants experience high-level training sessions, small-group technical and tactical evaluations, and full-field showcase matches,  all while receiving real-time feedback from professionals who know exactly what clubs are looking for.

This combine is a genuine stepping stone for players aiming to secure trials, contracts, or scholarships with top European clubs, providing insight into the standards, expectations, and pathways of professional football abroad.

It is a professional evaluation environment that offers players first-hand experience in Bundesliga and La Liga Pro club training, along with UEFA Pro-Licensed coaching staff. Talented footballers have a chance to be scouted and evaluated by scouts and coaches from different professional and semi-professional teams, as well as club supporting directors.

Those registered for this program stand a chance to secure a contract or football trial with notable clubs in Spain or Europe. In addition, they can be awarded a scholarship for one of either DBSISA or ISA’s Academy soccer teams at a partner Bundesliga or La Liga Club.

Every element of the program, from the training intensity to the feedback process, is built around one question:

Is this player ready for the next step?

Why This Combine Is Different

What differentiates this Pro Combine from many showcase events is its focus on education and clarity.

Players are told:

  • What scouts look for
  • What immediately disqualifies players
  • How European recruitment actually works
  • Why do many talented players never progress

Workshops such as “What Scouts Are Really Looking For” and “How U.S. Players Transfer to Europe, Rules, Risks & Reality” are not motivational talks. They are practical, sometimes uncomfortable explanations of how decisions are made at the club level.

For many players, this is the first time football has been explained honestly.

Real Clubs, Real Leagues, Real Decisions

With DB Sports and ISA linking up the scouting network spans multiple tiers of the European game, including:

  • Bundesliga & 2. Bundesliga clubs such as Borussia Dortmund, Schalke 04, FC Köln, VfB Stuttgart, and Hertha BSC
  • La Liga and Segunda División clubs, including Sevilla FC and Cádiz CF
  • Serie A clubs such as AS Roma and Torino FC
  • Premier League and EFL club,s including West Ham United, Brighton & Hove Albion, Stoke City, and Derby County
  • Clubs across Ireland and Scotland, including Celtic FC, St Patrick’s Athletic, and Aberdeen

This matters because exposure without decision-makers is just noise. By linking up the model focuses on clubs that actively recruit, not names used for marketing.

Where DBSISA and DB Sports Change the Conversation

Exposure alone is never enough. What happens after a scout shows interest is where most players lose momentum.

This is where DB Sports Management, led by David Berber, becomes critical.

DB Sports does not operate as a trial broker. It operates as a professional sports management service, guiding players through decisions that can shape their entire careers. Through David Berber’s influence, who is officially licensed as a FIFA Player Agent (this means he is legally recognised to represent professional footballers, negotiate contracts, and facilitate transfers between clubs, including across European leagues) DB Sports to bring in influential football connections from Ireland, the UK, Italy, Spain, and other key European regions directly into the player pathway, ensuring guidance is grounded in real access, informed decision-making, and long-term career planning.

The players DB Sports currently works with tell that story better than any slogan.

Players represented and supported by DB Sports have gone on to sign with clubs including:

  • AS Roma
  • Brighton & Hove Albion
  • West Ham United
  • Derby County
  • Stoke City
  • Torino FC
  • Reading FC
  • Notts County
  • Glasgow City FC
  • Bohemian FC
  • St Patrick’s Athletic
  • Waterford FC etc.

Some of the players we currently work with include

  • Evan Ferguson (Center-Forward) signed with AS Roma
  • Andrew Moran (Attacking Midfield) Signed with Brighton and Hove FC
  • Mark O’Mahony (Center-forward) signed with Brighton and Hove FC
  • Jessie Stapleton (Defender) signed with Westham United
  • Barry Cotter (Right-back) signed with Notts County FC
  • Freddie Turley (Defensive Midfield) signed with Derby County FC
  • Darius Lipsiuc (Central Midfield) signed with Stroke City FC
  • John Ryan (Defender- left-back) signed with Reading FC
  • Emily Whelan (Forward) signed with Glasgow City FC
  • Nickson Okosun (Attack – Left Winger) signed with Watford FC

Across senior international, Premier League, Championship, League One and Two, Serie A, and elite women’s football, these outcomes reflect long-term management, not short-term exposure. The common thread is not luck; it is guidance.

Why This Matters for Players Attending the Combine

For players attending the Pro Combine, the connection to DBSISA and ISA adds a layer of continuity that most events don’t offer.

Players are not left asking:

  • “What does this interest actually mean?”
  • “Should I take this trial?”
  • “Is this the right club for my development?”

They are supported through:

  • Career planning
  • Trial evaluation
  • Contract understanding
  • Next-step preparation

This is particularly important for young players navigating Europe for the first time.

A Process Built on Numbers, Not Promises

Since launching in 2020, the International Soccer Academy has worked with:

  • Over 250 players
  • Arranged 270+ trials at European clubs
  • Supported 55+ professional contract signings

These are not projections. They are outcomes.

When combined with Our DB Sports International Soccer Academy structure in Ireland and DB Sports’ management experience, the result is not a shortcut, but a clearer process.

The Reality Players Need to Hear

European football is competitive. Brutally so.

Not every strong performance leads to a contract. Not every trial is the right move. And not every opportunity should be taken.

What players need is:

  • Honest evaluation
  • Clear communication
  • Trusted guidance

That is what this partnership is built to provide.

The pathway to professional football doesn’t begin with a dream; it begins with understanding how the system works.

The collaboration between International Soccer Academy, DB Sports International Soccer Academy, and DB Sports Management is not about selling opportunities. It is about placing players in environments where opportunity can actually exist.

For players ready to be assessed seriously and guided properly,  this is where the conversation becomes real.
